PRODUCERS GUIDE | TECHNICAL
REQUIREMENTS
- One program per 3/4 inch tape.
- For best results black your tape for 30:00
- Total running times should not exceed 28:30 or 58:30.
- Audio on CH. 2 Only (If recording in both channels please
indicate on tape ID labels)
- :10 Black
- :60 color bars over a 1Khz (1000 Hertz) Tone.
- :05 or :10 Black
- :05 Slate (Show, Title, Producer, TRT, Audio Channel, Date)
- :05 Countdown (The last 1 second of a countdown should always
be in black.)
- Program begins.
- Time your program from visual fade-in to visual fade out
using the search method of timing. Do not estimate. Know the
exact minutes and seconds.
- Program ends. Total running time (TRT) ends. Leave :30 of
black after the program ends.
(if tape was previously recorded add black until the end of tape)
- Must meet other minimal technical standards close to FCC
specs regarding audio noise, audio distortion, extremely low
(or high) video levels, color correction, etc. (this includes
digital hits and drop out)
- Check your tape and rewind
- Properly fill out labels on all tapes and tape cases (including
spine and front). Library case preferred. Your labels should
have the following:

| Producers name and complete
mailing address |
| Producers current/best contact
phone number |
| Exact total running time (video
in to video out) rounded forward to the next
second. |
| Indicate audio channel (CH.
02) |
| Submit dubs only (no masters) |
SPECIAL NOTE:
All Producers are required to know the basics of broadcasting. If your
show has any technical issues, we will not air the tape or series.
